City of London

Apart from running a company listed on the London Stock Exchange and all the City of London activity surrounding that role Dennis has been a member of the Worshipful Company of Fuellers for many years ultimately becoming Master in 2013. The Worshipful Company of Fuellers is one of 110 City of London Livery companies each one representing a different trade or industry sector. Many livery companies date back to the 13th century and have a long and varied history. The Fuellers roots go back to the Woodmongers who unfortunately lost their charter in 1667 the year after the Great Fire of London. It was only in the 1980s that the coal industry were able to revive the Livery and the Woodmongers were reborn as The Fuellers.

Dennis was elected the 30th Master and was lucky enough to serve his year when Fiona Woolf was Lord Mayor. Fiona Woolf was only the 2nd female Lord Mayor in 800 years and is also a Liveryman of The Fuellers .

Running up to and during his year as Master Fueller Dennis was actively encouraging networking between various members from different parts of the energy industry, he arranged a number of industry visits ranging from an offshore windfarm to a memorable visit to the Faslane Naval Base. Dennis attended 230 events, ceremonies, lectures and meetings in his year as master and was supported in over 140 by his wife Suzan who also attended may other events in her own capacity as Mistress Fueller.

Following his year as Master Dennis is still very active in The Livery attending functions and working closely with other City organisations to promote The City of London and many good charitable causes.
